Montrose Station South Entrance Stairway Temporary Closure

How does this affect my trip?
The south entrance/exit to the Montrose Blue Line station will be temporarily closed.

Please use the north entrance/exit located across the street, the north side of Montrose Avenue. For safety, please cross the street at signal-protected crosswalks only – the nearest to the station at Kilbourn Avenue to the east and Knox Avenue to the west.

Note: The eastbound #78 Montrose bus stop in front of the south entrance will be temporarily discontinued during the entrance closure. Please board/exit eastbound buses at Montrose/Knox or at Montrose/Kilbourn.

Why is service being changed?
The south entrance will be temporarily closed due to IDOT construction on the Montrose Street bridge over the I-290 Expressway.

Boarding Change, Delays Between Irving Park and Logan Square

How does this affect my trip?
Board/exit all trains on the O’Hare-bound side of the platform at the Addison and Belmont stations.

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Irving Park and Logan Square, resulting in minor delays.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are performing track maintenance to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Blue Line.

Boarding Change, Delays Between Lake and North/Clybourn

How does this affect my trip?
Board/exit all trains on the 95th-bound platform at the Grand and Chicago stations, and on the 95th-bound side of the platform at the Clark/Division station.

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Lake and North/Clybourn, resulting in minor delays.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are performing track maintenance to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Red Line.

The bus reroutes listed below are short-term reroutes during this week or long-term reroutes beginning this weekend. For a full list of bus reroutes currently in place, please visit the Bus Alerts page.

Temporary Reroute
#1 Bronzeville/Union Station
#3 King Drive
#4 Cottage Grove

9am, Mon, Mar 16 to 5am, Mon, Mar 30 or completion 

 How does this affect my trip?  
#1 Bronzeville/Union Station, #3 King Drive, and #4 Cottage Grove buses will operate in both directions via Michigan, 18th, Indiana,14th, and Michigan.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?  
Buses are rerouted due to viaduct construction at Michigan/18th.
 

#8 Halsted Temporary Reroute

10am,Tue, Mar 24 to 4pm, Wed, Apr 1 or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Northbound buses will operate via Halsted, 59th, Racine, and Garfield, then resume their normal route on Halsted.

Southbound buses are not affected. 

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to CDOT repair work at Halsted/59th.
 

#12 Roosevelt Temporary Reroute 

9am, Mon, Mar 16 to 5am, Mon, Mar 30 or completion 

How does this affect my trip? 
Westbound buses will operate via Indiana, 16th, Michigan, 18th, Indiana, and 14th, then resume their normal route on Roosevelt. 

Eastbound buses are not affected. 

Why is service being changed? 
Buses are rerouted due to viaduct construction at Michigan/18th. 
 

#12 Roosevelt Temporary Reroute

10:30am, Mon, Mar 23 to 5pm, Tue, Mar 31 or completion 

How does this affect my trip?  
Buses will operate in both directions via Kimball, Addison, Kedzie, Irving Park, and Kimball.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed? 
Buses are rerouted due to sewer work at Kimball/Byron. 


#53 Pulaski Temporary Reroute

9am, Mon, Mar 30 to 5pm, Mon, May 25 or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Buses will operate in both directions via Pulaski, Addison, Kimball, Elston, and Pulaski.

Due to the reroute, #53 buses will not connect with the Blue Line at the Irving Park station.

During the reroute, connect between #53 buses and Blue Line trains at the Addison station.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to sewer construction on Pulaski between Dakin and Irving.
 

#82 Kimball/Homan Temporary Reroute

10:30am, Mon, Mar 23 to 5pm, Tue, Mar 31 or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Buses will operate in both directions via Kimball, Addison, Kedzie, Irving Park, and Kimball.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to sewer work at Kimball/Byron.
 

#126 Jackson Temporary Bus Stop Change

Fri, Mar 27, 2020 to Fri, Mar 26, 2022 or completion     

How does this affect my trip? 
The eastbound bus stops at the northeast corners of Jackson/Halsted and Jackson/ Desplaines will be temporarily discontinued. 

Board eastbound buses at the southeast corner of Van Buren/Halsted and at the northeast corner of Jefferson/Van Buren.    

Why is service being changed?  
These bus stops are relocated due to the Jane Byrne Interchange construction project. 
 

#126 Jackson Temporary Reroute

9am, Fri, Mar 27, 2020 to 9am, Fri, Mar 25, 2022  or completion   

How does this affect my trip? 
Eastbound
 buses will operate via Jackson, Halsted, Van Buren, and Jefferson, then resume their normal route on Jackson.  

Westbound buses are not affected.

Allow extra travel time.  

Why is service being changed? 
Buses are rerouted due to the Jane Byrne Interchange construction project.
