Western Kimball-bound Platform Elevator Out of Service

How does this affect my trip?
The Kimball-bound platform elevator at the Western station will be temporarily out of service.

Entry/exiting from the Western Kimball-bound platform will be available by escalator (entry only) and stairs only.

For accessible boarding/exiting of Kimball-bound Brown Line trains:
• For service from Western, take a Loop-bound train to Damen station and transfer to a Kimball-bound train.
• For service to Western, take a Kimball-bound train to Rockwell station and transfer to a Loop-bound train.
• Use the adjacent accessible Damen and Rockwell stations.

The elevator is estimated to return to service on Sunday, December 31, 2023 (date subject to change).

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are upgrading the elevator at Western to ensure continued safe, accessible service.

Boarding Change, Delays Between North/Clybourn and Lake

How does this affect my trip?
Board/exit all trains on the Howard-bound side of the platform at the Clark/Division station, and on the Howard-bound platform at the Chicago and Grand stations.

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between North/Clybourn and Lake, resulting in minor delays.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are performing track maintenance to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Red Line.
