Jeffery Jump

This project is complete.

Reliable. Easy. Fast.

Jump can make your life easier, giving you more time to spend on the things you love.

Jump is a CTA bus service designed to provide a faster, more convenient travel experience. Jump service will benefit from several types of bus priority infrastructure along Jeffery Boulevard, including dedicated rush-hour bus lanes, queue jumps and enhanced bus shelters, before beginning a non-stop ride along Lake Shore Drive and “jumping” to downtown destinations.

Features

  • Dedicated Bus Lanes: Jump corridors use dedicated bus lanes between 67th & 83rd during congested periods (northbound from 7-9 AM and southbound from 4-6 PM).
  • Fewer Stops: An average of ½-mile Jump station spacing helps increase travel speeds. The #15 continues to serve all local stops, including shared stops at all Jump stations.
  • Transit Signal Priority: Traffic signals from 73rd St. to 84th St. were upgraded to provide an early or extended green light, so the bus can stay on schedule.
  • Queue Jump: At Anthony Ave. and Jeffery Blvd., buses can use a bypass lane and a unique traffic signal to move ahead of general traffic.
  • Special Stations: Most Jump stations will include lighted shelters with Bus Tracker displays, high-visibility signage, and ADA-accessible sidewalk ramps. Select locations will also feature bike racks, benches, and trash cans.
