As of July 2011, the Office of Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) has jurisdiction over the Chicago region's transit boards: RTA, CTA, Metra and Pace.
The OEIG’s jurisdiction encompasses the board members, officers, agents, contractors and employees of the CTA and the other regional boards to investigate among other things, allegations of waste, fraud, abuse or violations of the State Ethics Act.
