Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program
The Small Business Program is designed to give certified small businesses an opportunity to bid as primes on CTA contracts under $5 million with sufficient Small Business availability. Under the program, selected contracts will be set aside for small businesses to bid on as prime contractors.
Certifying as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE)
- The company must meet the size standards for small businesses as revised by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for the industry in which it works.
- Small businesses can now apply for their Small Business certification by submitting a SBE Certification Application. If you are currently certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) with one of the other four Illinois Unified Certification Program (IL-UCP) members you are considered a SBE and do not have to complete the verification process.
- Current DBE certified companies can opt into the Small Business Enterprise Program by submitting a SBE Acknowledgement Form and a copy of your current DBE certification letter.
Submission of a bid
Vendors must submit verification of SBE certification to the CTA when submitting a bid as described in the special conditions included in the bid package.
