CTA Service to the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place

The #3 King Drive and #21 Cermak routes provide direct access to McCormick Place and operate during all hours of the Chicago Auto Show.

CTA Auto Show Shuttle (Between Downtown Metra Stations and McCormick Place)
Special Auto Show buses will operate between the Ogilvie Transportation Center/Union Station and McCormick Place. These buses will have either “To Auto Show McCormick Place” or “Metra Stations/Via Downtown” in their destination signs. The charge for the bus is a regular $2.25 bus fare.

Ventra readers can accept contactless payments directly from mobile devices. You can pay a contactless Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) fare by touching your phone with Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay—or any contactless bankcard with the contactless symbol—to any Ventra reader.

The Auto Show Shuttle will run 12 to 20 minutes on:

  • Monday, Feb. 17, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Board the Auto Show Shuttle in the following locations:

Ogilvie Transportation Center: on southbound Clinton at Madison (Stop L) 
Union Station: on southbound Clinton at Quincy, or eastbound Jackson Boulevard and Canal Street (Stop A) 
LaSalle Street Station: on eastbound Jackson Boulevard and Financial Place (Stop B) 
Museum Campus/11th St. Station: on southbound Columbus at 11th Street McCormick Place: at Gate #26

CTA Rail Service to the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place

Getting to the Chicago Auto Show by train is now even more convenient with the Cermak- McCormick Place Green Line station, which is a half mile walk from the venue. Customers traveling on other CTA rail lines can make free transfers to the Green Line at the following locations:

  • Clinton (closest Green Line station to Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station)
  • Clark/Lake
  • State/Lake
  • Washington/Wabash
  • Adams/Wabash (closest Green Line station to LaSalle Street Station)
  • ​Roosevelt

Boarding Change, Delays Between Belmont and California

How does this affect my trip?
Board/exit all trains on the O’Hare-bound side of the platform at the Logan Square station.

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Belmont and California, resulting in minor delays.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are performing maintenance to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Blue Line.

 

BROWN LINE


Effective 4am, Mon, Feb 17 until further notice

Boarding Change at Belmont

How does this affect my trip?
Board/exit Loop-bound Brown Line and Purple Line Express trains on the Red Line side of the 95th- and Loop-bound platform at the Belmont station.

95th-bound Red Line trains are not affected.

Why is service being changed?
Loop-bound Brown Line and Purple Line Express trains are rerouted to the inner track at Belmont station for track and signal construction north of Belmont as part of the .Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) project.

RED LINE

How does this affect my trip?
Board/exit all trains on the 95th-bound side of the platform at the North/Clybourn station.

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Clark/Division and Fullerton, resulting in minor delays.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
We are performing track maintenance to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Red Line.

#9 Ashland Temporary Reroute

Tue to Wed, daily
8am to 5pm or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Southbound #9 Ashland (trips to Vincennes/104th, only) buses will operate via Ashland, and 95th, and Vincennes to 103rd, then continue their normal route on Vincennes.

Northbound #9 (trips from Vincennes/104th, only) buses will operate via 103rd, Vincennes, and 95th, then resume their normal route on Ashland.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to construction on Beverly at 96th.


#J14 Jeffery Jump Temporary Reroute

Tue, Feb 18
8am to 5pm or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Buses will operate in both directions via Lake Shore Drive, 67th, Stony Island, 73rd, and Jeffery.

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to utility maintenance on Jeffery.
 

#15 Jeffery Local Temporary Reroute

How does this affect my trip?
Buses will operate in both directions via Lake Shore Drive, 67th, Stony Island, 73rd, and Jeffery.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to utility maintenance on Jeffery.
 

#37 Sedgwick Temporary Bus Stop Change

Effective 9am, Mon, Feb 17

How does this affect my trip?
The northbound #37 Sedgwick bus stop on the southeast corner on Orleans at Hill will be temporarily discontinued.

Why is service being changed?
The bus stop is changed due to construction and related sidewalk closures.

#92 Foster
#146 Inner Lake Shore/Michigan Express

6am Mon to 5pm Fri or completion

How does this affect my trip?
Eastbound #92
and northbound #146 buses will end their trips on Broadway at Berwyn.

Westbound #92 and southbound #146 buses will begin their trips at Broadway/Berwyn, operate via Broadway, Bryn Mawr and Sheridan to Berwyn, then continue their normal route on Sheridan.

Buses will not operate on Berwyn Avenue.

Board buses:

  • on Broadway at Berwyn
    • #92 on northeast corner (stop L)
    • #146 on southeast corner
  • on Sheridan at Berwyn, southwest corner (stop P).

Allow extra travel time.

Why is service being changed?
Buses are rerouted due to the closure of Berwyn Ave between Broadway and Winthrop for construction of the new Berwyn station over the street as part of the Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) Program.
