Art Institute of Chicago

Located on Michigan and Adams.

  • From the Green, Orange, Brown and Purple Line Express elevated lines, exit at Adams/Wabash and walk one block east on Adams.
  • From the Red and Blue Line subways, exit at Jackson. Walk two or three blocks east on Jackson and a half a block north on Michigan. Also served by buses 3, 4, 6, 7, 14, 147, and 151.
  • Weekday rush periods only - buses 1, 26, 28 and 148. Weekends and holidays (mid-May through Labor Day) - bus 130 from Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station.

Located at 1852 W. 19th Street.

  • From the Pink Line, exit at 18th and walk a half a block west to Wood and two blocks south to 19th Street and then a half a block west to the museum.

Obama Presidential Center

Located at 6001 S. Stony Island Ave.

From the South Side

Routes #6 Jackson Park Express, #15 Jeffery Local, and #28 Stony Island each stop at the OPC. Each of those routes operates 7 days per week during all times the Center is open. The stops are steps away from the main entrance.

From farther west, take a CTA Red Line train  to the 63rd  Red Line station and transfer to the #63 63rd bus.

From the West and Chicago Midway Airport

CTA's #63 63rd bus stops blocks away from the Center, offers daily service, and provides service as far west as Midway Airport. This bus service also links with the CTA Red and Green rail lines, so customers coming from north or south can transfer at the 63rd Red Line or the 63rd Green Line stations to a #63 63rd bus, which is part of CTA's Frequent Network, providing service at least ever 10 minutes during most of the day.

Service is also provided by CTA bus route #59  59th/61st, Mondays through Saturdays.

From Downtown, the North Side and downtown Metra Stations

The #10 Obama Presidential Center/Museum of Science and Industry Express bus route provides the most direct service. The #10 route serves North Michigan Avenue and the Loop. The route operates daily, year-round during most of the Center’s hours.

Service from Union Station and the West Loop is provided by the #28 Stony Island bus route during weekday rush hour periods. The #6 Jackson Park Express bus route offers service to and from The Loop.

The CTA Red and Green lines offer service between Downtown and Garfield Boulevard. Take a Green Line Cottage Grove-bound or Ashland/63rd-bound train or a 95th-bound Red Line train to the Garfield station. Then transfer to an eastbound #55 Garfield bus traveling toward the Museum of Science and Industry.

Riders can also ride Red and Green line trains to 63rd Street. Then take a Cottage Grove-bound Green Line train or a 95th-bound Red Line train. At 63rd, transfer to an eastbound #63 63rd bus traveling toward Stony Island.

  • From the Blue Line (O’Hare branch), exit at Division and walk four blocks southeast on Milwaukee to the museum. Also served by buses 9 and 56.
